It's a very good book to read if you're learning German and want to transfer it to literature. If you're a big fan of the Grimms' fairy tales, like I am, you'll enjoy reading it since it doesn't lose anything in translation. I definitely recommend it. Personally, I love fairy tales.
I got this book mainly because I've been looking for a copy such as this for a while, and because - surprisingly - I needed it for a class. There's editing done to make it slightly more understandable in the more contemporary Hochdeutsch. It's great for a student of the German language, or a native speaker as well. I grew up in Germany reading these stories and now that I am about to become a father myself, I will continue the tradition with my daughter.
