I started reading them because I wanted to find out how good these mysteries are and after I started, I finished the entire set myself.
This will be a common review for all the books in the set so please forgive me if you see this repeated under another book. First of all, the mystery part of the book is fairly simple for an adult, but I can see how it can keep a kid engrossed. The characters My 7 - year old has finished the entire set of the A to Z mysteries including all the super editions. The characters are playful, around the same age as my kid now, so are very relatable.
Yes, there are some characteristics which can be a little irritating, but they didn't really bother me too much as to take away from the stories. The other con is that these little kids are left unmonitored in many of their adventures I am not a helicopter parent, but it felt a little strange, especially when they are out of the country altogether. That being said, now what I loved about the stories - 1 Most of the stories are based in different cities, and sometimes different countries, so the travel perspective is amazing. We, as a family, love to travel and every time the kids in the books traveled somewhere it made the story more exciting to me as well as my kid.
My kid had comments on how they went to Key West and later Washington D. C "just like us". I would always like more female strong characters shown ofcourse: I'm sure my kids will be enjoying many more of the author's books in the future: Mar 24, Lucas F rated it liked it. Aug 10, Heather rated it really liked it. I've read several of the books in this series to my son recently. There is a lot of humor in this book that both children and adults will enjoy. Shotsky is the nurse, Mrs. Aria is the choir teacher, and Mr. Neater is the custodian. Okay, maybe I have a warped sense of humor, but I thought it was a brilliant use of vocabulary. My son and I had a discussion about what each name represented.

Again, my daughter loved this book and handed it to me to read. I also liked it. Roy doesn't talk down to kids--he obviously sees kids as smart and clever and capable of being independent.
This is essential for me, because I also think that, and I get mad when people talk to kids like they're somehow inferior beings. An extra star for no non-realistic elements. The storyline is actually feasible ish , I like Ron Roy. The storyline is actually feasible ish , and the kids are living at home with their parents. We don't actually MEET the parents, but that would slow the book down, wouldn't it. The School Skeleton Author: A to Z Mysteries 19 Rating: S is for Skeleton Jun 26, Marlee rated it liked it.
I read this book with my children 10 and 6. Though I thought this was as interesting as the others, my children didn't find it as captivating. My 6-year-old actually thought it was boring when we were about half way through. They ended up liking it at the end.
They still want to continue with this series. However, as this one didn't interest them as much as others in this series, they no longer seem as excited about it as they used to. As a whole, this series so far has been great. My children I read this book with my children 10 and 6. My children have loved most of them.
