Just like Heidi open the mind of her grandpa with her kindness and love. She also opens Clara's heart with the companionship of Heidi always being there by her side. As a younge girl Heidi went through so many changes and she still managed to be herself and not changed her personality. This story meant alot to me and i really recommend this to kids or teenagers like me but i really injoyed reading this story it was the best for me An orphan child, Heidi, live with aunt Dete at first.
Then aunt Dete give Heidi to her grandfather because Dete think that she had finished her responsibility to take care of Heidi. So, he leave Heidi to Heidi's grandfather. She lived with her grandfather for a while and he loved Heidi a lot. Heidi was a sociable girl who alway make friend with other.
Later, she make with other two characters. They was Peter and his grandmother. Hence, she took a bible and read to Peter's grandmother. A bible was the book that Peter's grandmother dream to read. In short, we can see that Heidi is a sweet girl and care about others people. It is the nature of humanity, we cared thinked and helped others people. That is how we live as a community I would recommend this book because it was a sentiment novel.
It taught me a lot of lesson from it and I like how the author wrote the story in pathos writing.
My mom gave me this book when I was younger but I never finished it. Recently I had picked up the original novel and I loved it.
So I decided to read this version too but I was very disappointed. This author did shorten it well, but she left out the most important parts! Johanna Spyri's book was based on turning back to God and getting right with God and man. Deidre Laiken took all of that out and put the focus on the goodness of humankind and only getting right with people. But there is not one My mom gave me this book when I was younger but I never finished it. But there is not one person who is good, only God is good. I found a first edition of this book and reread it with total enjoyment and contentment. I hadn't remembered it contained such uplifting inspiration. As for the descriptions of scenery, the scents of flowers, and fresh mountain air, I felt I was there.
Even the goat milk and cheese sound wonderful, though I am not sure how much I'd like them in real life. Having been to the Swiss Alps a few times, I can vouch for the beauty. I really hated that women that took care of Clara but I really liked Sebastian. I was happy that Heidi went back to live with her grandfather and I was also happy when Clara started walking.

I really really loved this book so much, I used to reread so many times and kept wondering how would it be like to live in Heidi's world. Mainly bc of the book format which has very little to no paragraph breaks in each page. Reading this book as an adult gave me a heart warming experience, something which prolly wouldn't happen if I read Heidi a decade earlier.

She tries living in other places in order to experience new opportunities, leading to a bunch of climatic situations! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys peaceful stories, with a touch of adventure. This was the very first book that I owned and started my life long affair with books. I remember sitting on my bed, before I had learned to read, pretending to read this book out loud in gibberish. My mother read it to me, but once I learned how to read, this was the first book I read and it was so much more satisfying!

Get's them exposed to the great classics in a format that is enjoyable. We owed 10 of these books already.
My son loved them so much he read them 3 or 4 times each. I just had to get more stories in this series. I am looking forward to sharing them with my younger daughters. Only one caution, these are easier reads for younger students, don't let them take the place of the true classics when they get older. Book was new, nice shiny cover. I bought this book for my grnaddaughter. It is a classic that I hope she will enjoy in a few years.
