At the end of each chapter there is a succinct summary of the important points and a few questions readers can ask themselves if they would like to do some introspection. A real bonus for readers is the opportunity to participate in the online Leadership Integrity Survey Watts' company provides. It is designed to give participants an idea of how they are currently navigating the integrity journey.
This is a valuable read for anyone. The entire book is strong, particularly the Identity and Accountability challenges which raise questions about values, purpose and stewardship. The emphasis on courage in the final chapter was right on point There is a great deal to like about this book.

Al Watts really nails the importance of integrity in leadership. The book is an easy and very insightful read that should be in every leaders bookshelf! Navigating Integrity is very well written and the concepts fit together well as a mosaic for building an ethical business. That said, I think the real addition that Al Watts makes is in the connecting of these concepts to the day-to-day work of the organization.
It becomes apparent when you talk to him that he has thought through how to make this conceptual model work inside an organization so what he has done is develop a systematic way to assess the ethical nature of a working organization. As we all know, in business it is the implementation that counts! Many books describe the downside of missing integrity. But case studies of Lehman and Enron have been done. What impressed me about Al Watts' book "Navigating Integrity" is that he covers the upside of integrity, of making and keeping promises, and of accepting accountability.
These are the basics of any business, and Watts covers these topics beautifully. He makes a convincing argument that in order to find lasting fulfillment and success, we must embrace four specific values: Identity, Authenticity, Alignment and Accountability. While weaving in sound philosophy, business case examples, and personal stories, it's a quick read with a strong message.
