Finger painting, the art museum, and performance art are all part of the class. The class thinks Ms. Hannah is bananas because she never throws anything away, and they are convinced that she's really just a garbage collector. The class has an art contest, but a ruckus caused by A.

J thinks this is the worst class ever. Feb 15, Gail rated it liked it Shelves: I wish these books didn't use "dumbhead" as much as they do. Also wish that A. The kiddo likes these books though so we will be reading a few more I suppose. Aug 15, Helen rated it really liked it. Lots of funny moments and good lessons on appreciating art and its wide variety.
Harika bir kitap bu. Feb 06, Paula rated it it was amazing Shelves: We have a Miss Hannah at our school so my kids laughed a little more because they thought about her. Z rated it it was amazing. I say this because the art teacher Mrs. Hannah does not have a garbage can in her room. Why this is gross is because everyhting that is supposed to go in the trash she saves and turns it into art.
For example if you were doing a craft and you had scrapes she would save that and turn it into art, she would also save tissues with boogers on it.
Buttotherwise it is good. Jul 05, Courtney Umlauf rated it liked it Shelves: This is a decent early chapter book series. Each book has a bit of humor and a relatable setting and characters that make them easy for students to engage with. Oct 13, Edward Creter rated it liked it Shelves: This fourth book in the saga of Weird School has second grader AJ still having lousy thoughts of girls as so mega-superior that they must be belittled at all costs, especially Andrea, the brain he despises because 1 she's a girl, which is already sad in my humble ahem opinion and 2 she's a SMART girl, and better in every way as a result.
Sorry, AJ, but face facts, you're a boy and Andrea is too much of a woman for you to compete with, hah! Hannah arrives, a woman in every aspect This fourth book in the saga of Weird School has second grader AJ still having lousy thoughts of girls as so mega-superior that they must be belittled at all costs, especially Andrea, the brain he despises because 1 she's a girl, which is already sad in my humble ahem opinion and 2 she's a SMART girl, and better in every way as a result.
Hannah arrives, a woman in every aspect with a framework made for the dress she has created from mere pot-holders! Probably her husband fantasizes of putting his "mitts" on her creative clay, LOL She believes that art is in all things pertaining to the universe, even the very air! AJ is challenge by female superiority once again! Can he achieve the inner peace needed to pull off his own artistic vision? Will he break down and proclaim his love with a rendition of "Hello Dali!
There is truly a difference between art and "garbage" regardless of what Ms. Hannah says in the book, and like all things in art AND life, it's all based on opinion. My idea of artistry: My idea of Garbage: Not to mention that awful photo of Jesus on the cross dipped in peepee. Note to the artist responsible: Enjoy while you can!
And that Jesus movie that totally dishonors the Savior--both films the Mel Gibson AND the Scorsese pieces now considered "classics" for some odd reason. What do YOU think is art? I challenge you at GR with some good replies. Meanwhile I think I'll hit the museum Jul 11, Rich rated it liked it Shelves: This one finds the principal Mr. Klutz offering candy to the kids, just if they can avoid fighting for the day.
A bit of a let-down from the previous books, which had "incentives" offered if the kids were able to learn things, solve problems, read, etc. In other words, the "incentives" were a reward for some special achievement -- not merely for doing what one should be doing in the first place. Plus, Gutman is having to push the "hatred" between A. Initially, it w This one finds the principal Mr.
Initially, it was a lighthearted "I hate the brainy kid" that was amusing given that the brainy Andrea was, indeed, over-the-top annoying. Having already done that, however, Gutman seems to push hostilities between the two children farther most likely to keep the series from becoming overly repetitive, which it already is in other respects. In other words, Gutman is beginning to overdo the once-amusing rolling-of-the-eyes-at-the-kid-with-all-the-answers. A bit of a concern, but not enough to keep me from giving it to my 8-year-old. I suspect he isn't going to become a serial killer as a result of this book.
A few good jokes about performance artists, which is always good for a laugh. Sep 10, Msjennifers Corner rated it liked it.
